The Stevens model 311 is one of the most popular 'working man is double' ever made. They r not rare, nor very valuable, no matter what condition. They r however in fairly high demand because of their reputation for simplistic workablity & durability. But there r also alot of them around. They usually fetch in the $250-275 neighborhood at the shows l go to, slightly more at retail places.
Feild & stream once featured them as one of the top 50 guns ever made, they came in at #50. For the resons l listed. l have 2 of them myself, one 20 one 12, both my everyday grouse & pheasant guns.
l would not trade them for anything. l have quite a few doubles.Parkers, Foxes, LC Smiths, & a beautiful SKB, all very very 'pretty' & valuable guns. But l do not bring them in the woods to get scratched up, the 311 is belong there.
