im hunting early morning w/ 12g. dense woods and shooting will be close range? which one do l pick?

Slugs. In many states that is your only option when it comes to hunting deer with shotguns.

Slug. buckshot should only be used for ultra close range.

DO NOT use buckshot for deer! Take the slugs.

We've had bad experiences with buckshot. Stick with slugs. You will be glad you did.

First, check ur hunting regs. Some places require slugs, some require buckshot, & some allow u to choose. If u have a choice, use a slug.

Close range means both slugs & buckshot r viable options. Some people will tell u buckshot is great at busting through brush.which is nonsense. Whatever u do always make sure ur shooting lane is clear of any brush, sticks, twigs, branches, leaves, vines, etc. If u shoot through that stuff hoping one or two pellets actually gets through you're more likely just to have a wounded deer than a dead deer.

jeez, do NOT hit a deer with any kind of buck shot. It is more likely to wound than to kill. Use a slug.

Buck Shot. Yes slugs are better but unless you want to invest in a slug barrel stick with buck shot.
