I am looking at a pump shotgun that holds six shells, and with my FID card in MA I am only allowed a shotgun that can accept 5.l could get a different license, but that might mean l need to take a long firearms safety course.l do not wanna do this for one extra shell.Is there a simple way to limit the capacity of this shotgun and make it legal for me?
Please do not tell me that this is not the law.I've seen it in numerous sites, and heard it directly from a cop who specializes in this.MA laws are stricter than most.l have to have an FID to own a shotgun, period.To have one that holds more than 5 rounds, l need a License to Carry, type A or B.

“Large capacity feeding device”, (i) a fixed or detachable magazine, box, drum, feed strip or similar device capable of accepting, or that can be readily converted to accept, more than ten rounds of ammunition or more than five shotgun shells; or (ii) a large capacity ammunition feeding device as defined in the federal Public Safety & Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, 18 U.S.C. section 921(a)(31) as appearing in such section on September 13, 1994. The term “large capacity feeding device” shall not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, & capable of operating only with,.22 caliber ammunition.
This law is clear that the round in the chamber does not count, so if it holds 5 in the magazine tube & 1 in the chamber, you're fine. If it holds more than 5 in the magazine, then no, a plug will definitely NOT suffice due to the clause about ''can be readily converted''. Removing a plug would mean it could be readily converted.

No, Thats like me taking a hi cap magazine and stuffing five dummy rounds in it and loading 10. It is still capable of accepting more than 5 by its design. l live in Massghanistan as well. Not worth the hassle get the license, you are going to need it eventually anyhow.

Just plug it, problem solved.* You would win if it ever came to a trial or hearing.* In Pennsylvania they have to be plugged to a three (3*) shell limit.* Besides that there is nothing in the 2nd Amendment about legal limit is five (5*) shell capacity.* '' Right to Keep and Bear Arms is good enough for me, otherwise they are violating your 2nd Amendment Rights.* The Law or Regulation is illegal, and Unconstitutional.*
