l just purchased my first air rifle. I've always loved shooting and guns. Lately I've been getting into hunting a little bit, just small things like squirrels and birds. It does not matter if l kill anything or even hit anything, just that l go out doing it. It seems terrible because it is an innocent little animal and the thought of killing deer and larger animals does not really sit too well with me. But l love it so much and have no clue why.

It is a primal urge. It takes you back to the very basics of nature and life.

It is built into our DNA to hunt and forage. It serves to keep us grounded. Literally.

Your ''Politically correct'' mind, is arguing with your genetic instincts.

Its in your blood if your a partly sane Male human. We are the top of the food chain for a reason.

One of my proudest moments was my Twins eating Venison as their first meat :D.

When u nail that first deer and process the meat you will feel excellent. Use the takings and it will be fine.

Just why it is enjoyable is something that is personal. Each person derrives his pleasure from different aspects of the hunt. If it gives you pleasure all well and good. If it doesn't, then maybe you should just hike through the woods and do your hunting with a camera. Find out what makes YOU happy and then do it.

Cause it gives you the biggest rush of your life!! People think hunters just like the kill but l feel like the meat from my deer this year is feeding my family and that makes me proud! Plus you know where that meat came from and just how it died. Its not processed and the animal did not live in bad conditions.

Oh and you do not have to be a guy to love hunting! :-)

u answered ur own question..It does not matter if l kill anything or even hit anything, just that l go out doing it. If the thought of killing an animal turns u off, hunt them with a camera, u have to get even closer, & the same challenge is there & even more enhanced because u have to have some movement. Try getting getting a shot at deer at 10 yards, u still get the pounding heart & all. l do hunt with both a camera & a rifle & get a lot of enjoyment out of both
