How do you do things differently that a hunt during the day???Thanks for the details

What exactly can you hunt with an air rifle at night? Stray cats in the neighborhood?

Where l live, it would be illegal to hunt anything other than raccoons, and l do not feel that even my RWS Model 34 at 1,000 fps is adequate for shooting coons.
When l was younger, my grandpa use to spotlight sparrows for me, and I'd shoot them with his Crossman 760 using pellets so as not to punch a hole in the corrugated tin barn roof.

There is nothing l can think of that is legal to hunt at night with an air rifle.

here in england, rabbits. ive got a night vision scope on a daystate X2 with daystate ammo. its pretty boring when your on your own.

if your lamping l recommend a shotgun but one of the farms l use has a cat so l dont like using it there

l live in the Uk & l am therefore legally allowed to hunt Rabbit & Fox at night. During my younger days l used to shoot Rabbit with a .22 HW. Now l favour the .22LR on Rabbit or the .223 on fox. As l have a moderator fitted | l find l get a 2nd & 3rd shot at Rabbits & achieve good kills on fox.
Personally l do not favour a shotgun at night unless it is got a hushpower conversion.
Some folks who live in the countryside no nothing of country life!

In all honesty l much prefer hunting during the day as l am 100% sure about the backstop.
