can someone give me a website where they list the steps to skinning a deer when you TAKE THE SKIN OFF FIRST. l have found so many site who take the intestines out first...thats not what l want!
well l understand that and this is for my boyfriend he just wants the steps where u take the skin off first...

also there is a musk gland way up inside the thigh you will want to remove BE CAREFUL NOT TO BURST IT !!!!!!

But that is the way to do it! You've got to take the guts out and then the skin. Can you imagine trying to skin a deer with the guts in? What if you puncture the stomach while skinning? Do you know what happens? It is disgusting and would seep out all over.

Do you do everything backwards? The longer you leave the guts in the more tainted the meat is gonna be. Not to mention dragging him through the woods with no skin is gonna tear up the meat. l am assuming that the animal will be gutted in the woods, therefore if you do it backwards it will have no skin left for dragging it out.

Hang it by the neck before you do anything. Makes gutting it much easier.

your not supposed to do it that way at all, you need to get the guts out asap, not fool around skinning it first, stop dreaming and do it right.
and skinning, you need to hang the deer upside down and cut down the inside of each leg and around the neck, then start pulling the skin off, it is hard but the best way, you only need the knife if the meat starts coming off too, then cut in between the skin and meat very carefully, then continue.
