l had a game warden look at my deer and he took out a piece of paper with pics of dead deer eyes and he looked at my deer and sed it was ok(was not shot past dark)
i had some one call on me when l was hunting and the warden came out and looked at the eyes of my deer to see if it was shot after dark.....it was shot verry close to dark but not after........he had a card that showed pics of deer eyes and l had never seen it before....

in the dark. The general knowledge area is for butchers and many
wardens have this experience.

IF it was dark out when you shot it you would have had to use a light. If you shone the light at the deer it would have put it is two front hoofs in front of it is eyes to block out the light and after rigamortus set the deer is legs would have been stuck in that position...and if you read all of this you should not be allowed to own a gun in the first place!

tell that game warden to f*** off. if he want to find people poaching, go out at night and search

well if its closed then it might be resting sleeping or its dead and if it died the eyes might be closed or staring into mid air because its paralyzed no blinking

No chance, he was running a bluff. The only way he could even come close to telling the time of death on an animal is if it was not field dressed, and he took the internal Temperature, then he could get an estimate on how long it was dead.

yes, its eyes will start to deteriorate and change color. they start to get a cloudy or white coloration, and depending on the color can get an approximate time of death. read it in field and stream.

??? l know if you can poke them in the eye to make sure they're dead. Thats it.
